Hello there wine lovers,

My name is Juliane and I am one of Sovio’s Brand Ambassadors from California, where Sovio is made. I live in Sonoma County, which is one of California’s most renowned wine producing areas. We are literally surrounded by vineyards and wineries. It’s lovely to drive by the sloping vineyards on my commute to work and to see the sun rise over Mt. St. Helena. A postcard view is nothing in comparison. Sometimes I feel a little smug thinking that people fly thousands of miles to spend their vacation driving or biking on those very same roads. Forgive me for bragging - maybe I feel a little more entitled to do so than native Californians since I lived for seven miserable years under a constantly cloud covered of clouds and drizzly sky in Hamburg, Germany before moving to sunny California.

Wine is very much a part of life here. At every party or gathering you’ll meet someone who makes his own wine in the garage, or who is a lawyer-turned-winemaker type. And they all make good stuff! Good food is equally important. The abundance of fresh fruit and produce is amazing – every cook’s dream. Everything grows in California. If you like to cook, eat, and enjoy wine with it, this is the place to be.  In my own garden I have peach, orange, apple, and guava trees, which grow along rows of raspberries, strawberries and, what else but grapes.

The other thing that is so great about Northern California is that there is so much to do. We have endless beaches, mountains, desert, old growth forests, and exciting cities, all within a few hours drive. People here like to eat healthy, be in ridiculously good shape, work hard, have fun, live well, and above all …. be mellow. Sovio fits very well into our lifestyle – it is light, refreshing, easy to drink and perfect for a hot, sunny California afternoon.
