Summer has come to visit

By Hannah - Sovio UK

The weather is always something us British people talk about, it’s like our favourite conversation starter; “I hear its going to rain tonight” or “The weatherman says we are going to have a heat wave this weekend”- I mean we are crazy about the weather forecast!

We strain our ears listening to every word the lady on GMTV or the BBC weather man telling us, idolising them like gods, they decide what we will wear or do for the day.

Over the last few weeks, the weather here in Farnborough has been all over the place, not even the TV gods could predict all these changes. I have gone from sunning myself on Bournemouth beach at my friend’s hen weekend, where we were cooking burgers on a disposable barbeque and drinking sparkling Sovio, to sitting in the office with Jumper, jeans, socks, scarf and a fan heater.

As I am writing this blog in our Farnborough office, surrounded by cases of our sparkling white zinfandel Sovio, I am gazing out of the window - which looks out onto trees and grass, a much prettier picture than our old offices, the view was of the airport- wondering what the weekend weather will be like. I could look online, but that’s far too easy, but... I have decided there are no ifs or buts; I will go online. The reason I need to know is whether its time to get the BBQ out and make the most of the sunshine or to paint the dreaded bathroom, the job neither my boyfriend or I have wanted to do since he moved in last year.

Apart from all the weather conversations that are going on, there is also the murmur of football and the World Cup. I must admit I myself love to watch the football, but only if it’s England playing, I don’t see the excitement in watching other teams. At the time of writing this England have won their nail biting game against Slovenia, in a game that could of sent us crashing out of the World Cup. I’m always a bag of nerves when we are playing crucial games, and now I have been informed we face Germany in the knock out stages on Sunday afternoon. I think I will be watching the match at home, getting the boyfriend to cook me something at half time and trying to relax with a few glasses of Sovio to calm my nerves.

Fingers crossed for the boys! I hope to speak to you all soon.
